Elaine ended her struggle with Alzheimer’s dementia on April 24, 2021 and left her earthly home in Citrus Heights for her real home in Heaven. Elaine grew up in San Francisco where her father, Howard Day, was a pastor at First Baptist Church. Active in the church all her life, Elaine loved God and loved others through a number of ministries both in San Francisco and locally. As a teen, her beautiful voice was heard in the First Baptist Church Youth Chorale. She will be remembered as in incredibly kind, helpful, cheerful, hardworking, welcoming and gentle soul. Elaine loved traveling, cooking, gardening, vacationing in Yosemite and eating chocolate. Her amazing and beautiful smile will be remembered always. Preceded in death by her parents Howard and Catherine Day. Survived by her husband Chris, brother David Day (Karen Day). Sisters in law Gail Dierks, Beth Penny (James Austin) and brother in law Paul Penny (Liz Penny) Nephews, Kyle Day, Ross Day, Scott Dierks, Jordan Dierks (Patti Dierks) and Cody Curry (Margaux Curry). Nieces, Heather, Jasmine, and Domonique Penny. Elaine is also survived by her beloved West Highland White Terrier, Mr. Ted.
