It is with absolute devastation, shock and heartbreak, that on Saturday April 24, 2021, Edward Gregory Bottomley, loving husband of 37 years, to Dianne Bottomley (Thompson) and father of two daughters, Terri Conrad (Jeff) and Kristi Kennedy (Doug), passed away at the age of 63 after a week long battle from a stroke, with his family by his side. Son to Barbara and Walter Bottomley; sibling to brothers Chucky (Marnie), Herb (Wilma), Kenneth (Sophie) and sister Charlotte (Terry).
Edward was born August 26, 1957 in Halifax, Nova Scotia. He worked at the dockyard for 38 years before finally retiring in March 2018.
He loved music and playing his guitars and was a big animal lover. He loved the family dogs dearly and fed the deer, squirrels and birds in his backyard for as long as he lived there. Edward would look forward to spending his summer vacations at the cottage on the beach with his family.
He was devoted husband, father and grandfather to Jett, Jordan and Louie – they loved their grampie. You will be so missed and we will think and talk about you often. This summer we will all crack open some Alexander Keith’s and put on some Rod Stewart in your honour. We love you.
It’s not goodbye, its ‘until we meet again’ XO
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date once COVID restrictions are lifted.
If you would like to honour Ed’s memory, nothing would make him happier than a donation to Hope for Wildlife.
