Joseph J. Freeman, 93, of St. Simons Island died April 27, 2021, at the Southeast Georgia Health System in Brunswick, Ga.

Mr. Freeman was a native of Jesup and had been a resident of Glynn County since the mid-1950’s. He retired from federal civil service.

Survivors include; a daughter, Leza Freeman Witherington of Augusta, GA, two sons, Joseph Jackson Freeman III of Wilmington, NC and Edward Dean Freeman of Southport, NC; six grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; one sister, Linda Freeman Heaton of Lakeside Park, KY.

A private burial will take place at a later date.
