MARBLEHEAD - Florence C. Whipple, of Marblehead died in the early morning hours of April 27 at the age of 101. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, and her much beloved husband, James Beaumont Whipple. She is survived by two children, Jonathan B. Whipple and Judith W. Leef, granddaughter, Jendaya R. O’Grady, nephews, Charles W. Corkum, James F. Whipple, John E. Whipple, Jeremy A. Whipple, and niece, Elizabeth Solano. She loved and is loved by many other relatives and friends.
Florence had two primary vocations in her life, dance and Reiki. She performed, taught and choreographed modern dance and co-founded the North Shore Civic Ballet with Paula K. Shiff. In her later years she became a Reiki Master who practiced and taught Reiki, founding three Reiki clinics with Reiki Master Kristin Webb.
But most of all, Florence will be remembered for her loving nature, her unshakable calm and wisdom, and her deep love for those in her life. Her loss will leave an indelible imprint on many hearts.
