Florita was born February 9, 1935 in Hilliard, Florida to George Earl Hodges and Maude Blount Hodges and was the fifth of eight children: Olson Stephen Hodges; Noble Colan Hodges; Earl Franklin Hodges; Robert Devaun Hodges; George Ellyott Hodges; Elizabeth Hodges; and William Norris Hodges. She was a devoted daughter and sister.
Florita married her loving husband, Charles Thomas Bundy, almost 60 years ago on November 23, 1961 at Beaver Street Baptist Church in Jacksonville. She faithfully served with Charles in various church ministries at Beaver Street Baptist Church, Jacksonville Baptist Temple, and First Coast Baptist Church. Together, they joyfully shared their devotion and love for Jesus Christ, touching countless lives. They had two sons, Joel Thomas Bundy and Andrew Charles Bundy.
Florita was a talented pianist and piano teacher whose love for music filled both her home and her church. She was passionate about cooking and loved to travel with family, with trips to England, Israel, Alaska, and the Caribbean—plus a mission trip to Peru—among her many adventures. She traveled to the Smoky Mountains regularly with her husband and sons and loved attending family reunions in North Carolina.
She was a loving Nana to her nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren and loved opening her home to them, teaching them about the love of Jesus, the beauty of music, and the value of a simple meal made from the heart.
Her surviving family includes her husband, Charles Bundy (Jacksonville); her son, Joel Bundy (Virginia Beach) and his wife Susan; her son Andrew Bundy (Cocoa) and his wife Sandie; her brother Ellyott Hodges (Sanford); and her grandchildren: Jonathan Bundy (Jacksonville), his wife Alicia, and their daughter Olivia; Jennifer Kanji (Jacksonville) and her husband Jatin; Jamison Bundy (Jacksonville), his wife Lauren and their children Lilah, Amelia, and Jack; Jacob Bundy (Camarillo), his wife Liz, and their daughter Jacqueline; Devin Rowell (Queensland); Timothy Bundy (Lancaster) and his wife Jennifer; Lauren Rowell (Washington D.C.); Allison Rowell (Fort Collins); and Caleb Bundy (Titusville).
