Charles F. Maly, of Longmont, passed away at his home on May 3, 2021, six days before his 87th birthday. Charlie was born in Wahoo, NE on May 9, 1934 to Charles and Lillian (Musil) Maly. He grew up on a small farm in Touhy, NE with his six siblings who he stayed close with throughout his life. He served in the Army stationed in Germany in the late 50s and played for the Army baseball team. Charlie married his sweetheart Yvonne (Gressley) in 1961 and in 1971 they packed up their three children and moved to Colorado. Charlie absolutely loved the mountains and the family spent most summer weekends up there enjoying the outdoors and going on adventures. Charlie loved to take out-of-town visitors up to his favorite spots. After a 38 year career at AT&T, Charlie enjoyed a long retirement doing things he loved, including golf, garage sales and softball tournament road trips. Softball remained a big part of his life up until he was 75 years old. When not playing sports himself he loved to watch his grandkids sporting events and school activities of all kinds, he was their number one fan. In addition to being a great family man, Charlie enjoyed spending time with beloved friends of which he had many. Charlie would have celebrated his 60th anniversary this year with his loving wife Yvonne who he absolutely cherished. He had a strong faith and it always was an important part of his life. Charlie had an amazing outlook on life which came through to everyone he met.
