Doris Mumford Culver, 102, of West Point, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 24th, 2021, at her home. She was born on February 20th, 1919 in Louisville, KY. She graduated from Louisville Girls High School, class of 1937 1/2. She worked at American Standard until her marriage in 1940. She was the former co-owner of The Culver Hotel in West Point, KY for 8 years. A bookkeeper for Alice Waller Elementary School, Culver Insurance Agency, Stuart Middle School, and Hall Pump and Supply Company. She was an accountant on the KY State Fair Board, a member of West Point homemaker's association, a pianist and organist for several churches and funeral homes, a lifetime member of the order of Eastern Star, a Kentucky Colonel since 1977, and a past president of the Louisville Girls High School alumni association. She was preceded in death by her parents Miles and Lula Mumford, her husband of 64 years Clifford E. Culver Sr., her brothers Bruce and Kenneth Mumford, a grandson, 2 great granddaughters, and 1 great-great granddaughter. She is survived by her children Clifford Jr. (Janice), Loma Hall (Carl), Kathie Haggard, James (Phoebe), and Dwayne (Janie); 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren. She graciously donated her remains to the UofL School of Medicine for medical research. A celebration of life will be held at the River of Life Full Gospel Church on Friday, May 7th at 2:00 pm. Interment will be held at Bethany Memorial Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be sent to Hosparus Health of Central KY or a charity of the donor's choice.
