Marilyn was born October 10, 1932, the daughter of Russell and Mabel Lowing. She married Carl Hodgson of Fruitport where they lived and enjoyed 70 years of marriage. She worked for Fruitport Public Schools for 30 years as a Food Service Manager, retiring in 1992. Marilyn enjoyed reading, crocheting, cooking and sharing Carl’s hobby of collecting and restoring antique tractors and gas engines. Most important to her was always her family. She was a social, caring, hard-working woman who will be deeply missed.
Marilyn is survived by: her husband Carl; daughters, Carla (Mike) Wallis and Kim (Dennis) Slezak; grandchildren, Kelly Johnson, Amy (Jerry) Parker, Jodie (Rob) Schmidt, Jamie (Rob) Thompson, Gary (Kathy) Hodgson, and Michael (Jan) Hodgson; step-granddaughter, Allison Saunders; and sisters, Lottie (Robert) Eddy and Lorna (Donald) Engle.
She was preceded in death by: her son, David; granddaughter, Sandy; parents; and daughter-in-law, Vicki.
In keeping with her wishes, cremation will take place and a private graveside service will be held at the Pine Hill Cemetery in Fruitport.
