Born February 2, 1952 in Saulsville, WV; He was the son of the late Ted Clay and Naomi Brown Clay.
Edward was a retired veteran Sgt. Major working as the 77th Brigade Operations Sgt. Major
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 50 years, Mable Darlene Clay; son, Adam Scott Clay and sister, Jackie Clay Hill.
Those left to cherish his memory include his son, Chris Clay; three grandchildren, Michalee, Brittaney, Corey and wife, Allison and Stacy Clay the mother of the grandchildren; three great grandchildren, Bentley, Dylan and Lukah; brother, Ted Clay; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.
Services to celebrate the life of Edward Clay will be held 12:00pm Saturday, May 22, 2021 at the Saulsville Baptist Church with Pastor Michael Knotts officiating. Fellow servicemen will be serving as pallbearers. Following the service, Edward will be laid to rest at the George Washington Shrewsbury Cemetery on Barkers Ridge.
Friends may gather with the family from 11:00am until time of the service Saturday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations of sympathy be made to the Saulsville Baptist Church in Edward’s honor.
