COLUMBIA - Ed Elliott Germany Jr., 79, passed away Sunday, July 18, 2021. A graveside service will be held at noon Thursday, July 22, 2021, in Fort Jackson National Cemetery. Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, is assisting the family.
Mr. Germany was born March 2, 1942, in Columbia, a son of the late Ed Elliott Germany Sr. and Hattie Young Germany. He was a graduate of Columbia High School, Class of 1960, and served for 24 years in the South Carolina National Guard. Mr. Germany had worked for Southern Plastics and retired from Jolly’s Frame and Wheel Alignment. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and enjoyed his friends at the Hardee’s on Rosewood. He was a member of Whaley United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Kay Martin Germany; nephew, James J. Germany Jr.; brother-in-law, David Martin; sister-in-law, Jan Martin Sheely (Jimmy); niece, Hayleigh Martin.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by brother, James J. Germany Sr. and sister-in–law, Lois Germany.
