He was the loving husband of the late Isolde (Roessler) Rovillo. The two met in Mannheim, Germany when he was serving with the U. S. Army.
Born June 30, 1936 in New Britain, he was the son of the late Joseph and Anna (Carfi) Rovillo.
Philip was employed for many years at the New Britain Machine Co. where he was in charge of data processing when he retired at its closure.
He was an avid NY Yankees and NY Giants fan and was a serious bowler in his younger years. Philip and Isolde enjoyed spending quiet time at the beach and driving through the Connecticut countryside. He also liked to debate and offer commentary on current events.
Philip is survived by his children, Michael and his wife Theresa, Steven, Janet, Andrea, Philip (PJ) and Jeffrey, four grandchildren, Mitchell, Emily, Colin and Madeleine. He was predeceased by a grandson, Steven Rovillo, and a brother, John Rovillo.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, September 14th at 1 p.m. at St. Dominic Church, 1050 Flanders Rd., Southington. Burial with military honors will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. Calling hours will be prior to the Mass from 11:30 a.m. -12:30 p.m. at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington.
