Laura (Louise) Foster Moon, 93, of Chattanooga, went to be with her Lord on Friday, September 24, 2021.
Louise was born in Chattanooga, TN, on November 12, 1927. She graduated from Central High School in 1944.
As a draftswoman, she was employed by the Tennessee Valley Authority during World War II and subsequently South Central Bell for 10 years. She then earned a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Chattanooga where she was also a member of the Alpha Society. She went on to touch the lives of many students as a fourth grade teacher at Brainerd Baptist School.
Louise attended Victory Church and was very passionate about her faith. She was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was extremely devoted to her family and always put others first. Attending church, reading the Bible, hiking, square dancing, and taking her grandchildren on local outings were some of her favorite things to do. She was a dear friend to many and faithful to help those in need.
Mrs. Moon was preceded in death by her parents, Edgar Madison and Nola Mae Foster; her brothers, Roy, Elmer, and Glenn Foster; and her husband of 64 years, Joseph (J.D.) Moon.
She is survived by her sister, Mary Foster Woods; her daughters, Karen (Ken) Albin and Mary Moon; grandchildren, Alex, Derek, and Marisa Tuck; and great-granddaughter, Kaia Ketchersid.
The family will receive friends and relatives from 6 to 8 PM on Wednesday and from 10 to 11 AM on Thursday at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson, TN.
Following visitation, funeral services will be held at 11 AM Thursday at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Pastor David Seymour officiating. Burial will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
