Born in Campbellton on October 12th, 1948 he was the son of the late William and Dorothy Porter (Young).
Evie is survived by his wife Susan of fifty-two years, his daughters Tracey Porter (Yves), Amy Porter (Patrick), and Erin Casey (Ryan), his grandson Brock MacDonald and granddaughters Lily and Emma Casey, as well as many nieces and nephews near and far.
Evie retired from CN after 35 years of service and went on to operate Sanfar Cottages as well as the Whistle Stop Diner and Thirsty Pelican. He was an avid sports fan with the Detroit Red Wings being his team of choice.
The family would like to take this opportunity to thank the Extra Mural as well as the staff of the Campbellton Regional Hospital, with a special shout-out to the third-floor nurses and the team who worked so very hard to allow him to spend his final weeks at home.
A service to celebrate Evie’s life will be held at Maher’s Funeral Chapel 33 Lansdowne Street on Saturday, October 16th,2021 at 2:00pm with visitation from 1:00pm until time of service.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Campbellton Rural Cemetery or a charity of the donor’s choice.
