He was born to the late Otto and Perceda Blombach in Fort Wayne, Indiana on May 23, 1943.
Jack served in the United States Army and was a member of American Legion Post 39. He worked for Otis Elevator Company as a construction superintendent, retiring after 35 years. He was a member and trustee of Concordia Lutheran Church and was always on hand to help with repairs and maintenance. Every piece of wood in the church probably has his fingerprints on it! He enjoyed travel and camping and was an avid University of Louisville Cardinals fan. He was a real do-it-yourself person and loved to modify things to work better. There wasn’t anything he couldn’t do – electrical, plumbing, welding, building, concrete work – he did it all.
Left to cherish the memory of Jack are his wife of 57 years, Barbara Blombach; children, Tracy McClain, Chris Blombach (Sheliene) and Rex Blombach; five grandchildren, Hannah, Sean, Emily, John and Daniel; two great-grandchildren, Lawrence and Carson; sisters JoAnne Rowe, Judy Borst (Bob), Joy Lambert (Jim) and Jill Vogel (Curt); and extended family and friends.
A celebration of life for Jack will be held at Concordia Lutheran Church, 1127 E Broadway, Louisville, KY 40204 on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at 12:00 pm.
Memorial donations can be made to Concordia Lutheran Church in Jack's name.
