Vittorio was born in Italy to parents, Raimondo and Pasqualina Vellucci. His father passed at a young age and his stepfather, Joseph Casale, was instrumental in his upbringing.
Vittorio was predeceased by his first wife Maria (D’Onofrio), who passed from illness in July 1983 and is survived by their children: Raimondo (Donna), Alessandro (Jessica) and Giuseppe (Debbie)
Vittorio is survived by his wife Virginia Vellucci and children: Raymond (Debbie), Vera Beebe (Bob), Lina Bianca (Mike) and Pina Sherwin. In addition, he is survived by his brother Hugo (Claudia), sisters, Antoinette D’Onofrio (Vincenzo), Rose Milana (Tom), sister-in-law Annina and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
One of 8 children, Vittorio was predeceased by brothers Giovanni, Mario, Bruno and sister Carmela Johnstone.
Vittorio immigrated to the United States in 1969 where he eventually obtained permanent citizenship, which was an especially proud moment.
Vittorio worked most of his life at Ideal Forging in Southington as a maintenance foreman until his retirement in 1988 when he retired to Florida. Although he took an early retirement, he kept busy taking care of rental properties as well as being the “go to” guy for so many, to fix almost anything.
Vittorio would do anything for his family and friends. He enjoyed playing Italian card games with friends, ending the night with his espresso, topped off with Sambuca. He will be truly missed.
