Michael Pat Cunningham “Catfish”, born on September 30, 1952, originally from Spring City, Tennessee and currently residing in Morris, AL passed away on November 16, 2021 surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Pat Cunningham; his mother, Evelyn Heath; his children, Lisa Grizzelle (Brian), Keith Cunningham (Gail), Amy Lauer (Mark), Michael Stanley, Michelle Collier (Jerry), his nine grandchildren, Mason Shoemake (Jainy), Kenlee Grizzelle, Gracie Cunningham, Ethan Lauer, Cameron Lauer, Grayson Lauer, Courtney Stanley, Cheyenne Collier, Brooklyn Collier and one great grandchild, James Shoemake.
Mike loved fishing and participating in fishing tournaments, watching Tennessee football and cooking for his loved ones. He adored spending time with his family especially his children and grandchildren. He was a member of Enon Baptist Church. Mike “Catfish” will be greatly missed by his family and closest friends. Mike did not want a public reception. He only wanted to be remembered by the good times and memories of those who knew him and to leave this world surrounded by his family and a few special friends who he considered family. As most may know, Mike was a heart transplant recipient in 2017. God blessed him with four wonderful years and the hopes of many more until his recent diagnosis of cancer which he fought for several months. With that in mind, donations to The American Heart Association would be a great honor in his name in lieu of flowers. The family would like to thank everyone who impacted Mike’s life. We all know he will be greatly missed.
God Bless
