He joined the United Stated Marine Corps. in 1968 and served in Vietnam until 1973. He was Honorably discharged from the Marine Corps. in 1973 at the rank of Corporal (E4). Shortly thereafter he moved to Coral Springs, FL. and joined the Coral Springs Police Department.
He served the community of Coral Springs for 25 years before retiring at the rank of Lieutenant. He then went to work as a Lieutenant for the Lauderhill Police Department in Lauderhill, FL. for another 10 years and then retired from that police department as well.
He received his master’s degree in criminal justice from Florida International University in December of 2002.
He was also a Certified Personal Trainer and was an avid weightlifter and student of Karate for many years. He competed in the South Atlantic Karate open tournament in 1986 where he won 2nd place in the men’s brown belt kumite.
He is survived by his wife Pamela, his two children Danielle and Fred, two grandchildren Josey and Jackson, and his brothers Chuck, Doug, and Mark.
