You are in our thoughts John.  (The Bible Study group that Jim started)  You trained us well and we are grateful.  You, Jim and Dave.  Thank you!  We miss you all.

I am so sorry to just learn out about John's passing. John and I met back in the 70's when we were young and a little crazy. John and I both met  at the time at Chevrolet Parma, Ohio.  I got married to Janet and John got married to Nancy and so we all four spent wonderful times together. As children came along for Janet and I, and John and Nancy, our families continued our times together. In the early 80's our family was transfered to Indiana and we kinda lost contact with John and family.  
My heart goes out to Nancy, Jeff, and Jenna.

I am sorry to hear of John’s passing.

I first worked with John back in the 70s at Chevrolet in Parma, Ohio and then our paths crossed again during the late 90s at Chevrolet at the Tech Center.  Although many years had passed, it was like picking up where we left off.  John was an innovative professional who was genuine in dealing with others…someone I admired.

While at Parma, John was an avid bowler and golfer….and a proud member of The Royal Order of Lodi Raccoons.😃

I’m very saddened to learn of John’s passing. While we only worked together for a relatively short time, I quickly came to admire his professionalism, industry knowledge and intelligence. He was always incredibly helpful and I truly valued his perspective. John was a true gentleman and very well respected by those that had the pleasure of working with him. I will miss him. Rest In Peace my friend.

Did you know that John could sing and dance?  I’ll get to that in a minute, but if you worked with John at General Motors, you know he was all business and a professional with a silver lining sense of humor.  John had his favorites which were well deserved.  John laughed or at least smiled at every Bartolone pun or joke.  John practically roared with laughter at Joswick’s Superman costume.  John was an excellent right-hand man to Dave Hansen and was wonderfully detailed in everything he did.  But from where I sat, just outside his office, I got to see office antics that kept me in stitches.  It was the day that Ron Zarrella left General Motors that I remember John the most.  If you could imagine, the news of Zarrella’s leaving ran through the building like wildfire.  Dave Hansen came back from receiving the news and announced that Zarrella had left the building.  Standing in front of their office doors, Dave Hansen, Bill Gibson and John Gaydash began dancing a gig while singing, “Ding Dong!  The Wicked Witch is Dead!”  It was priceless!  Sang with excitement and glee that leadership at GM was changing for the better, everyone in the office had a wonderful day!  I don’t think John would want to be known for his singing or dancing.  I think he’d like to be remembered for strategically leading a marketing team to be market leaders in the auto industry while building a team of professionals who worked together out of friendship and respect.  That was John by day.  His love for family was always top of mind, even around us car, truck and van guys.  But I will always remember John for his singing and dancing.  I think there is a special place in heaven for guys like John.  It was an honor to work with him.      

We have lost a wonderful man with the passing of John Gaydash.  John was a valued employee and a great contributor to General Motors and a joy to work with.  He knew how to make the right decisions, better the company and support his fellow workers.

While he did great things for GM, his true love was his family.  You are blessed to have had him thou he was taken way too soon.  May the love he had for you assist in remembering the good times you have experienced and the knowledge you all were loved.

John Gaydash was a wonderful man who I consider a true friend.  
I will miss him but know that he is in a better place.

John was a great friend and mentor to many, including myself.  I have many fond memories of our work together at GM Fleet.  John was always kind, always willing to help, and always had a solution to whatever problem faced us.  John helped so many on the team learn and grow.  He will surely be missed.

They come no better than John.  I had the pleasure and honor to work with him.  He was the most level and supportive leader I have ever known.  He had so much respect throughout the GM organization.  I'm a better person for having known him.  My sincere condolences to the family.


My heart is aching at the loss of my friend.  John was a great boss who took me under his wing and helped me, trained me, and befriended me.  I am a better person because of him.   Knowing the man that he was, I am convinced that he is with our Father now.

My deepest sympathies to Nancy, Jeff, Jenna and all his extended family.

We have lost a great person whom I had the good fortune to work with at GM for several years.  John was an inspirational leader who always seemed to wear that wonderful smile.  He played a key role in turning around the GM Fleet performance in the late 1990's - only one of his many accomplishments.  We seemed to travel the world together on business and John developed great relationships with business partners.  John was part of the solution and people loved to be on his team.

Nancy and family:  Please accept my deepest sympathy.  I am very thankful to have know such a great guy.

Best boss I ever worked for at GM.  Even better person and friend.  You will be sorely missed.  RIP my friend.

John was a great friend and co-worker for many of us at Chevrolet.   His professionalism and easy demeanor made him a pleasure to work with.   In his retirement, John was a member of our Stress Free Golf League and provided great friendship and fun to all.   It is with deep sadness that we send our most sincere condolences to the family of this wonderful man.    May John rest in peace!!
