Samuel Hart, Jr. was born in Kakaako, Hawaii and passed away on November 16, 2021 at the age of 77. He is survived by his brother, Gordon Kalani (Lori) Halemano along with several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Samuel Hart, Sr., his mother, Mary Florence Dana and his sister, Rebekkah K. Maletaban. His extended O’hana in California includes members of Marina’s Hawaii Veterans Club and the Kekai O’Uhane Outrigger Canoe Club of Monterey. Sammy was an Army SSG (Veteran) having served honorably for twenty years with tours in Vietnam and Germany and retiring on October 1, 1986 at Ft. Ord, CA. Sammy had a gentle soul, a contagious laugh and, most of all, he truly represented the Aloha Spirit from his heart. He appreciated the volunteers from Meals on Wheels and the shuttle drivers that picked him up to take him to and from his V.A. medical appts. Services will be held at The Paul Mortuary in Pacific Grove, California on Friday, December 17, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. His final resting place will be with military honors at the Hawaiian Memorial Cemetery in Kaneohe, Hawaii at a later date.
