Brett D. Bauer, 43, of Peculiar, Mo., passed away March 30, 2010. Memorial services will be at 7 p.m. on Friday, April 2, at McGilley & George Funeral Home, at 611 Chestnut in Belton, Mo. Visitation 5-7 p.m. prior to the service. Brett was born on March 1, 1967, in Milwaukee, Wis. He came to the area in 1979. He graduated in 1986 from Belton High School and was a star in football and track. He served in the U.S. Navy in Desert Storm. Brett graduated from Vatterott College. He was a painter and later worked as an electrician for CEI of Kansas City, Mo. Brett was an avid hunter and fisherman. Survived by mother, Jean Bauer of Blue Springs, Mo.; fiancee Tracy Lyle and her daughter Morgan of the home; sisters Brooke (Marvin) Hendrix of Kansas City, Mo., Brande Bauer (Jack) of Bethany, Mo.; two nieces, Kalee and Madison; one nephew, Clayton; maternal grandparents, Harley and Elma Hesselman, and uncles Jim (Holly) Hesselman and John Hesselman, all of Mondovi, Wis.
