John Carmen Alberico July 18, 1928 - May 16, 2010 John was born in Fairmont, West Virginia on July 18, 1928 and went peacefully home to Heaven on angels' wings on May 16, 2010, surrounded by his family. The most important thing in his life was his beloved family. He was a great storyteller and lover of life. Cooking was one of his ways of showing love, and his children and grandchildren will always remember his spaghetti and meatballs and pizelles. John was also an inspiration to many young high school students and as a testament to the love his students had for him, they kept in touch with him many years after graduation. John was a dynamic Drama and English teacher in Long Beach, Carlsbad and Bakersfield, CA, and people came from all around to see his inspiring productions. His positive view of life uplifted everyone around him. He was the president of his class in school, and was successful in everything that he attempted. He is preceded in death by his wife, Eve and son, Randy; and survived by his wife, Joanne; his children, J'Neanne, John, Nancy, Jill, Chris, Mike, Dan, Ben, Tim, David, Brian and Becky; 25 grandchildren and 5 great- grandchildren. Visitation will be Friday, May 21, from 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m., followed by a Memorial Service at 2:00 p.m., at Hillcrest Mortuary, 9101 Kern Canyon Rd., Bakersfield, CA.
