Dorothy was born October 13, 1924 in Hanford and passed away suddenly at home on June 11, 2010. The daughter of Joaquin and Luz Gonzales, she was the fifth of nine siblings. Her family moved to McFarland where she attended school before settling in Delano. While working at Sierra Vista she met the love of her life, husband, Arlan Loyd Adams. They celebrated 51 years of marriage; sharing four children. The family enjoyed many trips to the mountains and the coast. Laughing, shopping, movies and the music of Elvis Presley were her true passions. She was a friend to many, calming in voice and largest in loving actions. She was affectionately called one of the golden girls and will forever be remembered for gift of giving, her smile, thoughtfulness and homemade Mexican cuisine will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by husband Loyd, brother's Mariano, Angel, Joaquin and Paul Gonzles and sister Francis Gomez. She is survived by her children Galen Adams (wife) Janet, Rita Farrar, Paul Adams and Sandra Adams. Four granddaughters, Regina Farrar, Kamrin Mello, Jami Wozniak and Brittney Schapiro, five great grand children and three sisters jennie Felix, Anita Villa and Mary Alice Clarke. Pallbearers: Phil Clarke, Vincent Clarke, David Clarke, Ben Mello, Mike Wozniak and Brian Schapiro. Honorary Pallbearers: Jerry Lewis and Steve Hocking.
Tuesday's viewing, June 15, 2010 will be at Delano Mortuary from 6-8 p.m. Mast at Saint Mary's Catholic Church in Delano, California will be Wednesday, June 16, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be at North Kern District Cemetery in Delano, California.
