Marjorie Kathleen Edmonds – 88, passed away September 21, 2010 at the Rosedale Home for Special Care, New Germany, NS. A much loved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother she was born in Halifax, July 22, 1922. She was the only daughter of the late Lester and Edith (Whipp) Norman and is the last surviving member of her immediate family. She married the love of her life, Ernest, on December 20, 1941. In addition to the demands of raising five children, she was an active member of The Junior League of Halifax, The Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, The Missions to Seafarers Ladies Auxiliary, The Alexandra Society, The Prayer Book Society of NS & PEI, and an active member of St. James Anglican Church, Armdale for well over 50 years. She also enjoyed a twenty year career with Sears in Halifax. In 2002 she moved to West LaHave NS, to live with her daughter and then to the Rosedale Home in 2008. Predeceased by her husband in 1999 and her brother Arthur in 2004, Marjorie is survived by son John (Margaret), grand children Candace (Gary Leinwand), Jennifer (Jonathan Hilder) Suzanne and their Mother Catherine Anne, Ruah and Emma, all of Halifax; Son Roger (Lynn) East Lawrencetown NS, grandchildren Leanne (Gerald Melanson) Saulnierville NS, Andrea, Port Coquitlam BC, Stephen (deceased), Shannon (James Cormier) Ottawa, and their mother Marie (Burton Greene) Bear River NS, Jaymie (Paul Burke) Burin NL, Joshua, Sarah (Andre Gray), Samuel all of Halifax; daughter Nancy (Gerd Inlow), grandson Damon (Stephanie) all of Ottawa; son David (Ellen), grandchildren Michael (Leah) Halifax, Kathleen (Conor O’Brien) Los Angeles CA; daughter Diane (Terry Humphries) West LaHave, NS; and 12 great grandchildren. Visitation with the family will be held 2-4 PM Friday, September 24th at J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax. Funeral service will be held 11 AM Saturday, September 25th in St. James Anglican Church at the Armdale roundabout. Reception afterwards in the church hall. Cremation will follow with internment with her husband in the Columbarium in the Chapel of All Souls, St. James Anglican Church at a later date. Family flowers only.
