Diana Lee Albro, 59, of Chattanooga went to be with the Lord on January 25, 2011 at 1:05 AM. Our angel on earth was born Diana Lee McElroy Kelley, July 27, 1951 in Attalla, AL. She graduated from Jacksonville State University where she met her husband, Tom Albro. She and her husband were house parents at The Tennessee Baptist Children’s Home for 23 years.
She will be remembered for her great hospitality and generous love. We will miss her, but know she is at home with the Lord.
She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Tom Albro; daughter, Angela Atwood; son Anthony Albro; many sons and daughters from The Tennessee Baptist Children’s Home; grandchildren, Andrew Albro, Sydney Albro and Elizabeth Atwood; sisters, Bonnie Mims and Susan Baird; Aunt, Sarah Battles; mother-in-law, Delores Albro Chambers; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Robert Albreaux, Jeanette Cantrell, Carol Eloe, Kathy Schaad and Marcus Albreaux; many nieces and nephews that call her “grammie”.
Celebration of life services will be held at 11 AM Friday at Oakwood Baptist Church 4501 Bonny Oaks Drive with the Rev. Ken Clark officiating. The family will receive friends from 4-8 PM Thursday at the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home. Burial will be in Sauls Cemetery in Altoona, Alabama at 2 PM (Central) Saturday with the Rev. Jackie Mims officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Tennessee Baptist Children’s Home, 6623 Lee Highway, Chattanooga, Tennessee 37421.
