Dr. Kenneth Carl Weeden was born in Sugar Land, Texas on Saturday, December 7, 1929, to Frank George Weeden, Sr. and Jimmie Beatrice Crowson Weeden. He went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at the age of 81. He is survived by his sister Marilyn Weeden, brother, Donald Courtney, brother, Frank Weeden and wife Betty and many other loving family members.
Dr. Weeden was a 40 year member of Tallowood Baptist Church, a member of many medical organizations, the Oak Forest Masonic Lodge #1398, A.F. & A.M. and the Arabia Temple Shrine. He was a graduate and avid supporter of the University of Houston, and received his doctor of medicine at University of Texas at Galveston.
Dr. Weeden served people in his general medicine practice in Houston for 20 years. He completed a residency in anesthesiology at Baylor College of Medicine and this was followed by a 20 year practice of anesthesiology in San Antonio, Texas.
His kindness, compassion and generosity will continue to be an inspiration to all of us who knew him.
Family and friends gathered at a visitation on Thursday the 25th of August from six until eight o'clock in the evening at Waltrip Funeral Directors, 1415 Campbell Road in Houston.
A celebration of Dr. Weeden's life was conducted on Friday the 26th of August at ten o'clock in the morning in the chapel of Waltrip Funeral Directors, with Reverend Dr. Duane Brooks of Tallowood Baptist Church officiating.
Committal services followed in Woodlawn Garden of Memories.
The family wishes to give a special thanks to Tammy Averett R.N. at Memorial City ICU for her exceptional care.
In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests memorial contributions be made in Dr. Weeden's name to the Shriners Hospital for Children, Tallowood Baptist Church's Stephen Ministries or a charity of your choice.
