and Ruby Friend of Sapulpa Oklahoma, passed away in Las Vegas, Nevada on
Saturday, August 27, 2011. A lifetime artist, her latest creative passion was
making jewelry from her own designs. Ruth's belief that you're never too old to
learn led to her earning numerous diplomas from The Gemological Institute of
America, and at the age of 75, achieved the title Accredited Jewelry Professional.
Ruth most enjoyed combining her love for music and reading the bible. As a
pianist, guitarist, and singer, she composed dozens of songs expressing her love
for the Lord and how beautiful she expected Heaven would be. Ruth was preceded
in death by her parents, brother Lonnie, sisters Shirley and Dorothy, and is survived
by her son Steve Dillow, daughter Debra and son-in-law Lee Siefert, brother
David Friend, sister Dorothy Wethey, grandchildren Justin, Shawn, Travis,
Alisha, Robin, Ryan, Sean, John, Stephanie, Nicole, Marjorie, great
grandchildren Jessica, Samantha, Dante, Tristan, and many nieces and nephews
she dearly loved. Viewing will be Saturday, September 3, 2011 from 1 p.m. to 7
p.m. Services will be held Sunday September 4, 2011 at 3 p.m. Smith's Funeral
Home 1208 S. Main Sapulpa, Oklahoma, with burial to follow in Kellyville
Cemetery.
