Larry Abbott passed away on September 25, 2011 at the age of 68 after a valiant ten month battle with cancer. Born October 14, 1942 in Ballard, Washington the son of Phyllis Abbott-Hull and Leonard Abbott. Larry was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and held many positions in his church including counselor in the bishopric, young men leader, scouting leader, Sunday school president, employment specialist and quorum secretary. He married Carron Knapp Abbott in the LDS Idaho Falls Temple in 1963. Survivors include his wife Carron of 48 years, three children, Camille, Wendy and Bryan Abbott, and daughter in law Debbie Abbott and three grandchildren - Ashlynn, Chelsey and Auston Abbott. Larry was a great family man and enjoyed vacations and outings with his family and grandchildren. He graduated from Boise State University with a BA degree in Business/Marketing and spent 10 years as Marketing Director for Ore Ida Foods and the remainder of his career as Director of Recruiting and Human Resources for the Ink Co. After his retirement from the Ink Company he started his own business as the "Chocolate Man" for the Tower of Chocolate. He belonged to several business associations including AFWPI, NACE and the Chamber of Commerce. Larry was a man of integrity and honesty and was greatly admired by his friends and family. He was an avid sports fan and continued to support his alumni team the Bronco's of Boise State University. He also supported many charities through his chocolate business and always gave freely of his time and resources. In lieu of flowers donations can be given to the American Cancer Society. A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 3, 2011 @ 1:00 PM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Tempo Park Ward Chapel @ 8056 Oak Ave. Citrus Heights, CA 95610. Friends are welcome to visit the family one hour prior to the memorial at the Oak Ave. address.
