Henry S. Albanowicz, 79, of Toms River passed away on 12/16/11 at the Firemen's Home in Boonton, NJ. Born in Newark, he resided in Hazlet for 39 years prior to moving to Toms River. He was a Veteran of the US Navy having served in the Korean War. He retired in 1994 after 25 years service with the Newark Fire Dept. He worked in Engine Co 16, 14, 8 and 4. He was also in Special Services, E.M.S. and a Fire Inspector in Newark. He was a Fireman of North Centerville Fire Co and member of the First Aid in Hazlet. He was a member of the VFW #4303 of Keansburg and VFW #10185 of Toms River and also the Polish American Club of Toms River.
Henry was predeceased by his parents John and Veronica Zawalich Albanowicz and his sister Joan Wolf. He is survived by his beloved and devoted wife Gloria Tafaro Albanowicz; his children, Gregory and his wife Kerry of Brick, Veronica and her husband Michael of Toms River, David of Brick, Mark and his wife Meredith of Brick, and his grandchildren, Victoria, Andrew and Megan Albanowicz; His brother John and his wife Mary of Ashburn, VA and his sister Ruth Farrell and her husband George of Matawan as well as many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be Tuesday Dec 20th from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home 26 Mule Road, Toms River, NJ 08755. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday Dec 21st at St. Maximilian Kolbe RC Church at 9:30 AM. Burial will follow at the New Jersey Veterans Cemetery in Arneytown, NJ.
