June 8, 1929 – July 15, 2012
Gloria, surrounded by her friends and family, passed peacefully in her home, and is now back with her Creator and is re-united with her past loved ones, including her husband Leopoldo, mother Isabel and son Jaime. While we all miss her greatly, we take comfort in knowing that she is in peace and without pain after her fight here on earth with diabetes and all its complications.
Never boastful, never proud, never rude, never self-seeking but always grateful, Gloria was a gift to the many she knew and even those she did not know but touched indirectly through her actions and sacrifices. Her passion was sewing and though she was robbed of her vision in the end, we know she will be the great seamstress in Heaven. Mom had a PhD in Life and she taught us that when life hands you lemons, you make lemonade, but never give up.
She is survived by her three sons Gustavo, Mark and Alfredo; daughter Kelly; 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. We all loved her greatly and will miss her always.
A visitation for Gloria will be held at Funeraria Del Angel Humphrey 753 Broadway Chula Vista, CA 91910 on Thursday July 19th from 5pm to 9pm with a rosary at 7pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Chula Vista, CA on Friday July 20th at 11am with Interment at Glen Abbey Memorial Park in Bonita, CA to follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family will be setting up a scholarship fund in her honor to help underprivileged children with promise advance in their studies. For more information, please send email to her son Alfredo at [email protected]
