Salvatore G. Maccaro, 91, of Toms River, NJ passed away at home on Thursday July 19, 2012. Born in Sicily, Italy, he lived in New Milford, NJ for many years before moving to Toms River 30 years ago. He was a first class welder with PSE&G for 40 years retiring in 1980. He was a veteran of the US Navy having served as a Seabee during WW II. He was a member of the Silver Ridge Park Westerly Men’s Club and Garden Club as well as the Ocean County Artist Guild. Salvatore loved to paint landscapes.
Salvatore was predeceased by his wives Domenica and Helen. He is survived by his son Frank Maccaro of FL, his daughter Nancy and her husband William Levy of Baldwin, NY, his son Mark Maccaro of Jersey City, his brother Joseph Maccaro of Pompton Plains as well as his four grandchildren, Jessica, Rebecca, Jarrett and Margot.
Visiting hours are Monday July 23, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home 26 Mule Road Toms River, NJ 08757. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday July 24, 2012 at St. Maximilian Kolbe RC Church at 10:30 AM. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.
