Shirley Altice Wilson Stewart – beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, an 81 year-old native and longtime resident of Mobile and former resident of Pensacola, FL passed away Friday, November 2, 2012. She retired from the Civil Service after 40 years at Brookley Air Force Base and Pensacola Naval Air Station. She was a former member of Faith Temple Assembly of God in Pensacola and was a longtime member of Fountain of Life Church where she was very active in many aspects of church life. Mrs. Stewart was preceded in death by her parents, Clydie Mae Chance Wilson and Howard Monroe Wilson; brother, Ronald Simpson Wilson; grandson, Charles Andrew McBenge; and the father of her children, Charles Henry Stewart. She is survived by 4 sisters, Phyllis Green, Carolyn Sutton, Sylvia Stewart, and Gayle Carroll; her children, Marlene S. Thomas (Larry), Charlotte Ann S. Harris, James Charles Stewart, Deborah S. Snow (I.C.), and Raymond Clyde Stewart; 8 grandchildren, Marla T. Mauroner (Rodney), Larry W. Thomas, Jr. (Katee), Edward B. Harris, III, James Clay Stewart (Audra), K. Felicia Stewart (Christy), Jason Corley Stewart, Michelle M. Wilson (Matt), and Geoffrey M. McBenge; numerous other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held at Fountain of Life Church in Saraland on Sunday, November 4, 2012, from 5-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held from the church on Monday, November 5, at 3 p.m. Interment will be in Valhalla Memorial Gardens.
