Jeff was preceded in death by his father, Leo; mother, Bernice; father-in-law William; brother-in-law Jimmy. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Barbara (née Satko); 3 children, Jessica Chapman-Lim (Daniel), Byron, and Michelle; sister Laura (Kevin); mother-in-law Janet; sister-in-law Nancy (Kenneth); brothers-in-law Bill (Rebecca), Don, and Paul; and many nieces and nephews.
He was a graduate of Shoreline High School. Jeff had a love of art and drawing from a young age and completed the Graphic Arts Course at the Washington Technical Institute in 1975. Jeff was an employee of the University of Washington Creative Communications for 23 years and most recently worked in the UW Medical Center Copy Center. He was very committed to his job and took pride in providing excellent customer service. He also worked part time at the Toys R Us location in Lynnwood for 30 years assembling bikes and other large items. Jeff was an avid UW and Seattle sports fan and greatly enjoyed talking scores and stats with anyone.
He and his family shared a love for and desire to care for all animals including their two dogs, Samson and Buddy, three cats, Jacob, Louie, and Gus, and their two turtles, Madeleine and Murtle among others throughout the years. Jeff enjoyed spending time outside maintaining his lawns and gardens and he loved watching the birds and acrobatic squirrels that visited his many bird feeders. He was also a huge fan of movies old and new. He had seen every Hitchcock film dozens of times and at least once a holiday season he would watch A Wonderful Life.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday November 17, 2012 at 2 p.m. at St. Alban’s Episcopal Church at 21405 82nd Place West, Edmonds, WA. For more information please go to www.floralhillslynnwood.com.
