Carlton Michael Drummond, PhD (70) of Macon, a devoted husband and loving father and grandfather, passed away December 5, 2012. Michael was a member of Mabel White Baptist Church, where he served as co-teacher of the J.C. Johnson Sunday School Class. He held a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Georgia State College, a Master of Education degree from Georgia State University, and a Doctorate of Philosophy from Capella University. In addition to many other roles as an educator, he served as Director of Instructional Technology at Mercer University for over 21 years.
A visitation will be held at Mabel White Baptist Church, 1415 Bass Road in Macon, on Saturday, December 8, at 10:00 AM at Mabel White Memorial Baptist Church. A celebration of life will be held at 11:30 AM at Mabel White Memorial Baptist Church. Interment will be at Macon Memorial Park Cemetery on Mercer University Dr. with Dr. Lee Shepard and Rev. E. Y. Stokes officiating.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Kay Barnes Drummond; daughters Kathy Stubbs (Danny), Alecia Dent, and Rebecca Drummond; grandchildren Barry, Jeremy and Katie Beth Stubbs, and Adam Dent; and siblings Randall Drummond, Jean Alexander, Thomas Drummond, Clarence Drummond, Don Drummond, and Phil Drummond.
