Born October 30, 1932 in East York, Ontario, John was the son of the late James Loughrin of Edinburgh, Scotland and Velma Loughrin (Clissold) of Udora, Ontario. John is survived by his wife, Mary Loughrin, and his loving children, Scott Loughrin, Tania Kingston (Jim), Kevin MacInnis and John MacInnis (Sandra). He was a devoted "Nannu" to Chad Kingston, Michael MacInnis, Christian MacInnis, Reade MacInnis and Caeleigh MacInnis.
He was the eldest brother of Jean Ogilvie (Lloyd) and the late Ron Loughrin (Marilyn). Uncle to Michael and David Loughrin, Sue, Heather and the late Steve Ogilvie.
John was a devoted husband, parent and grandparent who took great pride in the family and all they have accomplished in their lives. John was an accomplished wood carver and ship modeler who left many fine works of art as his legacy. He will be enormously missed by his family and all who knew him.
Family and friends may gather at Giffen-Mack Funeral Home & Cremation Centre "Scarborough", 4115 Lawrence Ave. E., West Hill, ON (one block west of Kingston Rd.), 416-281-6800, from 2-6 p.m. on Sunday, January 27, 2013. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Martin de Porres Church (at the corner of Morningside Ave. and Lawrence Ave. E.) on Monday, January 28, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. John will be laid to rest at Pine Hills Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Lung Association.
