LeRoyal Julian Dupre, Jr. a resident of Belle River passed away January 30, 2013 in Morgan City at the age of 70. LeRoyal was a truck driver for many years, he was well respected and had many loyal friends. His hearts work was being a Minister he was ordained Bishop in 1982, in The Church of God. He pastored churches in Louisiana and Arkansas; at his death he was still pastoring, and a district overseer of Louisiana. Six weeks before he passed, although very sick he conducted Sunday school. It was his desire to work and to serve God to the end. God granted that desire. LeRoyal served his country as a United States Marine during the Vietnam War.
LeRoyal is survived by his wife and the love of his life. February 15, 1962 he married Laura Lee Gaspard. He is survived by his two sons Randy Dale and his wife Tessie Dupre, and Glynn Lee Dupre; his daughter Wanda Marie Dupre; and his mother Grace Dupre all of Belle River; his brother Ray Dupre of Smyrna Tn.; his two sisters Coral Joy of Gallatin, Tn. and Fay Connie Kohn of Folsum, La.; his seven grandchildren Chasity and her husband Chad Ricard, Brandy Dupre, Brandon Dupre, Chris Chism , Tiffany Chism all of Belle River, Jad Michael Dupre and Blain Landry of Berwick.; his three great-grandchildren Tommy Lee Bates , Swade Ricard and Chad Ricard Jr.
LeRoyal is preceded in death by one son LeRoyal Julian Dupre III; his father LeRoyal J. Dupre Sr.; his grandmothers Annie Bourg, Bertha Dupre and Annie Dupre; his grandfather’s Alden Vaughn, Clement Dupre and Leon Bourg.
Visitation will be held Friday, February 1, 2013 at Hargrave Funeral Home from 6 pm until 10 pm. Visitation will continue Saturday, February 2, 2013 from 10 am until 3 pm.
Services will begin at 3 pm at Hargrave Funeral Home. LeRoyal will be laid to rest in The Church of God of Prophecy Cemetery, in Belle River. LeRoyal will receive full military honors at graveside
