Geri Ann Cebula, 54, passed away Friday, March 22, 2013. Mass of the Christian burial will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 11300 W. 103rd St., Overland Park, KS with a visitation prior from 9:30 -10:30 a.m. at the church; burial in Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to either Alzheimer’s Association, 3846 W. 75th St., Prairie Village, KS 66208 or Lakemary Center, 100 Lakemary Drive, Paola, KS 66071.
She was born July 14, 1958 in Kansas City, MO a loving daughter, sister, and aunt. Geri graduated from Shawnee Mission East High School in 1977. She lived in a Lakemary group home in Olathe for 20 years. Geri was employed in several businesses in Johnson County including Allstate and Fazoli’s. She participated in Special Olympics beginning with the first event held in the Kansas City area, Project CLEAR, and the annual Gene and Ardith Cebula Memorial Speech Tournament. Geri loved to listen to oldies, watch TV and go to movies. She always had room for dessert.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Ardith Cebula. Survivors include her sister and brother-in-law Adella and Phil Fowler; brother Joe Cebula, nieces: Kim Peete, Monica Cebula, Amy Grow; nephews: Chris Fowler and Curt Cebula; and great nieces: Sloan Peete and Carrigan Grow.
