He was a retired truck driver and farmer.
Mr. Lutz was a member of Bales Chapel United Methodist Church.
He was a member of Ottway Ruritan, where he was a Forever Member and held several offices.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years: Mary Ellen Lutz; two brothers and sisters-in-law: Thomas and Kathy Lutz of Bulls Gap and Archie and Barbara Lutz of Rogersville; two sisters and brothers-in-law: Louise and Eddie Blazer and Anita and Grady Bernard; sister-in-law: Iva Lutz; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law: Dennis and Jo Key, Doyle Key; special cousin: Jennifer Mathes; several nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews; one great-great nephew: Braydon Peters; and several cousins.
He was the son of the late James and Hazel Lutz and was preceded in death by two brothers: James T. Lutz Jr. and Wayne Lutz; and two nephews: Tim Lutz and Landon Key.
The family will receive friends 2pm-4pm and 6pm-8pm Sunday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
Following visitation, the funeral service will be held at 8pm Sunday, June 2, 2013 in Kiser-Rose Hill Chapel with Rev. Dixie Miller officiating.
Interment will follow at 11am Monday at Hardin’s Chapel Cemetery. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home by 10:15am Monday to go in procession to the committal service.
His pallbearers will be nephews and friends.
