Henry Frank Olexa passed away at the age of 89 on June 8, 2013 in Houston Hospice. He was born on August 12, 1923 in Houston, Texas to Frances and Frank Olexa. He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Della Little Olexa.
He attended Texas A&M University, where he was in the Corps of Cadets, before he served in the Army Corps of Engineers during World War II. He returned to Texas A&M University after the war to complete his BS degree in Structural Engineering. He worked for 31 years for Continental Emsco.
Henry was a Mason, a member of SPJST Lodge 88 in Houston, a Junior Achievement Mentor for many years, a HOSTS Mentor in Pasadena ISD for 10 years, and an active, faithful member of Kirkwood South Christian Church for many years.
Henry is survived by his daughters, Sharon L. Ainsworth, of Houston, and Sandra Segner and her husband, Patrick, of San Antonio. He is proudly survived by his four grandchildren: Angela Segner Kruljac and her husband Ian of College Station, Texas; Jennifer Ainsworth and her fiancé Robert Gill of Easton, Maryland; Brenda Segner of San Antonio; and Ryan Ainsworth and his wife, Sharon K., of Houston. Henry’s great grandchildren are: Mason and Austin Nicole Kruljac; and Caleb Martin. Three sisters-in-law, several cousins, and numerous nieces and nephews also survive him.
