Lorraine Dill,85,of Bradenton,passed away on Sunday,June 9, 2013. Lorraine was born in Detroit, Michigan;grew up in Oscoda, Michigan, and then returned to Detroit, Michigan.She was the Executive Assistant to the owner of Raycon Industries in Livonia, MI.Upon retirement she and her husband, Arvel (Whitey) moved to Barton City, MI where they resided for 6 years.In 1979 she moved to Bradenton, Florida.Lorraine was a lifetime member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary,a member of the Red Hat Society, and a member of the Lakewood Ranch Sarasota Elks,#2855.Lorraine loved the University of Michigan Wolverines, Detroit Tigers and Detroit Lions.She became a Florida State Seminoles fan when her grandchildren attended and graduated from FSU.She was notoriously lucky playing the slot machines and enjoyed many trips with her family and friends in pursuit of the Big Jackpot! She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years, Arvel (Whitey) and survived by her daughter Kathi Beck, son John (Tracie), grandchildren Melissa Beck, Christopher Beck, Blake Dill, and brother Robert Dorton (Pat).Visitation will be held at the Manasota Memorial Park and Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, June 13, 2013 from 9:00a.m. to 10:00a.m. with Committal service to follow at the Rotunda at 10:01a.m.In lieu of flowers,memorials may be made to the Elks Harry Anna Trust Fund, c/o Lakewood Ranch-Sarasota, Elks, 4908 Lena Road, Suite 104, Brandenton, Florida 34211.
