Age 78, passed away on June 12, 2013 in Seattle, WA. She was born in Bellingham, WA on Nov.29, 1934 to Loyd and Irene (Seward) Oswalt. She graduated from Lincoln High School in Seattle in 1952 and went on to attend University of Washington, earning her Bachelor’s Degree in Education. After teaching in Mose Lake and Kirkland, she married Richard E. Fisch in 1961 and moved to Port Angeles where she worked as a teacher for the Port Angeles School District at Lincoln, Fairview and Hamilton Elementary, until retiring in 1999. Janet was very active in the community. Volunteer activities included Art Doecent at Port Angeles Fine Arts Center, Operation Uplift, and the Retired Teachers Association as well as serving as a Democratic PCO. She was an avid reader, enjoyed gardening, traveling, and spending time with her grandchildren. She is preceded in death her parents; husband and love of her life, Richard E. Fisch; and brother, Richard “Butch” Oswalt. She leaves behind her daughter, Lisa Fisch; son, Karl Fisch; son-in-law, Jeremy Hagquist; daughter-in-law, Ann Emineth; brother, Marvin Oswalt; 3 grandchildren, Lauren, Evan, and Nadia; and many loving extended family and friends. At her request, a summer picnic Celebration of Life will be held at a private family residence on Sunday, July 21st, 2013 from 2-5PM.
