Jayson Hunter Giles, 42, of Phenix City, Alabama, died Wednesday June 19, 2013 in Phenix City. Funeral services will be held 11:00a.m. (ET) Saturday June 22nd at Philadelphia Baptist Church in Smiths Station with the Reverend Skip Speed officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery, according to Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 3770 Hwy 431 N/ 280 W, Phenix City, Alabama, 36867. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6pm until 8pm at the funeral home.
Jayson was born January 27, 1971 in Columbus, Georgia, son of James Franklin Giles and Linda Hunter Giles of Phenix City. He was a graduate of Glenwood High School in Phenix City and a member of the Philadelphia Baptist Church. He was employed by DEH construction of Columbus, Georgia. Jayson was an outdoorsmen and an avid Alabama football fan. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, brother and friend to all and he will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors other than his parents include his loving wife of 17 years, Dawn Hawkins Giles, sons, Hunter and Jack Giles, sister and brother-in-law, Frankie and Tim McLain, brother and sister-in-law, Jamie and Stephanie Giles, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jerry and Brenda Ward, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
