Elma had a giving and loving heart. She shared this with others in the form of an Elementary school teacher and with her faith in such fashion being one of the first women to go into the missionary fields full time with the Harrisburg Pennsylvania Mission Home.
Elma was very vivacious and full of life. She enjoyed snow skiing to the point that she was the Sun Valley, California champion and even qualified for the Olympic in 1952. To say the least, Elma led a very active life.
Elma leaves behind her daughters, Tammy and her husband David Bode, Rachel Waitrak, Sonya and her husband Bobby, Sr. Durbin, Tina Philips, and Katrina Burr, her sons James and Louie Kee, and her grandchildren, Taylor Bishop, Matt Bishop, Carson Bode, Collin Bode, Krista Philips, Brandon Durbin, Brent Durbin, Bobby Durbin, Jr., Brittany Durbin, Tiffany Pusker, Rebecca Waitrak, Haley Kee, Corey Kee, Zjean Kee, Luke Kee, Keith Philips, Courtney Riggle, and Josh and his wife Blanca Burr.
Elma is preceded in death by her parents, Elworth and Eva Gardner, brother Reed Gardner, and three sons, Richard, Louie III, and Louie IV Kee.
A visitation will take place on Friday, July 5, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Kingwood Funeral Home, 22800 Highway 59 North, Kingwood, Texas 77339. The funeral service will take place on Saturday, July 6, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 19618 Atasca Oaks Drive, Humble, Texas 77346. Elma will then be laid to rest at Earthman Resthaven Cemetery, 13102 North Freeway, Houston, Texas 77060 at 12:00 p.m. following the funeral service.
