Daniel was born in Toledo, Ohio in July 16, 1947 and was a resident of Shoreland and Point Place in Toledo for 30 years. He was the son of Alice (Gillespie) Luce and the late George H Pfaff. He graduated from Whitmer High School in 1965.
A Vietnam Veteran, Daniel proudly served his country in USN on FDR aircraft carrier based in Mayport FL from 1965-1969. He worked as a Property Insurance Adjuster and enjoyed “chasing storms”, especially hurricanes. Graduating from Owens College Ohio Law Enforcement and Peace Officer Training in 1984, Daniel was a former Police Officer in Gibsonburg Ohio, Special Deputy Wood County Arson Task Force, Special Deputy Lucas County Sheriff Dept. and Adult Probation Dept Volunteer.
He was a Life Member of the Senior Board Member Emeritus and former Instructor of NWO Arson Seminar, Inc. Daniel was the 1993 recipient of Eugene Jewell award, which was awarded annually to the person who demonstrates a strong commitment to prevention of arson.
He was also a Life Member Harley Owners Group, a member of the American Legion and a past AMA Field Rep
He could be seen during the week driving A1A, working as an Insurance Investigator for
the State of Florida. He enjoyed his Florida beach life, riding his HD motorcycle, scooter and surfboard, living those fish stories with fellow men and women who fish on Jax Beach Pier.
In addition to his soulmate, best friend, love of his life and wife Ginny (Black) Pfaff of 43 years, family members include his mother Alice Luce, sisters Sue Kasee and Peg Zientara; daughter Amy (Brian) Rose; son Dean (Laura Visco) Pfaff; granddaughters Grace Elise Young, Kate Elise Young, and Jade Elise Pfaff; beloved cousins, nieces, nephews.
