She was born in San Francisco De Oro, Mexico on December 6, 1930.
She was a very kind and loving person with a gentle soul and had a generous heart, and was giving to others. She made us laugh with her stories and taught us to be respectful towards other people. She enjoyed crocheting, embroidery, gardening, and astronomy. She was an avid reader of the newspaper, biographies, mysteries and even books about ancient civilization. She was clever in her own writing, and was good with numbers. She loved cooking for the family. On the weekends she loved going to garage sales and look for antiques.
Mom had an unwavering faith in God. She was a Guadalupana at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. She was involved with the church and assisted with numerous fundraising events. She also volunteered for the Santa Paula Library as a member of the Friends of the Library.
Elisa was preceded in death by her loving husband of 32 years, Raymond Alarcon. She is survived by her son Oscar Alarcon and wife Norma, daughter Diana Alarcon, step children Raymond Alarcon Jr, Barbara Mendoza, Rosemary Tumaimate, and grandchildren. Sisters Gracelia Diaz and Mary Valles and husband Ricardo, and nieces and nephews.
Diana lovingly cared for her mother the last 10 years of her life. The family gives Diana and Evangelina Moreno who cared for her their greatest gratitude.
Family and friends are invited to join her family on Wednesday, July 31, 2013 for the viewing at 4:00 – 7:00 PM, with the rosary commencing at 7- 9p.m. at Funeraria Del Angel Stetler Mortuary 128 S.8th Street Santa Paula Ca 93060.
A funeral service celebrating her life will be held Thursday, August 01, 2013, at 1:00 PM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. 427 N. Oaks St Santa Paula with burial following at Pierce Brothers Cemetery 380 Cemetery Rd. Santa Paula
