Harold Edward Dodgen was born on Saturday, October 8, 1927 and passed away on Saturday, August 3, 2013 at the age of 85. He was a long time resident of the Black Creek community of Tarrant. Harold retired from the City of Birmingham as a firefighter at Station #1 for over 32 years. He proudly served his country in the US Navy. He attended Phillips High School and Howard College (Samford University). He was preceded in death by his wife, Clarette; his parents, Joseph and Inez Dodgen of Inglenook; and his three brothers, Ray, Joseph, and Thomas Dodgen. He is survived by a brother, Col. (Retired) Clyde L. Dodgen; and several nieces and nephews and their families who will miss him greatly.
Graveside services will be held Monday, August 5, 2013 at 2 PM in Oak Hill Cemetery on 11th Ave N. and 19th Street. Pastor Mika Marcum will officiate the service.
