Norma Baird, 84 of Houston, formerly of Port Arthur, passed away on Friday, August 9, 2013, surrounded by her family. Norma was born September 24, 1928 in Pittsburg, Kansas to the late Grover Wiley and Zula Mae Reed Wiley. Norma was a rare jewel. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, proud grandmother, and an ecstatic great-grandmother. She shared her love of cooking with her grands and great-grands. She enjoyed cake decorating, crocheting, and crossword puzzles. Her greatest pleasure in life was being surrounded by her loved ones at family gatherings. Although our earthly time with you has come to a close, we can rest in knowing that one day we will be together again where time does not end. You will truly be missed
Norma is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Homer Leon Baird and son, Donald Baird.
Norma is survived by her sons, Billy Baird and his wife Mattie of Joplin, Missouri; Bobby Baird and his wife Donna of Fannett; daughters, Elizabeth B. Sanders of Port Arthur; Donna Ibberson and her husband Richard of Trinity; daughter in Law, Joy Baird of Haughton, Louisiana; 10 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Tuesday, August 13, 2013, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home with burial to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Nederland.
