Barbara Evans Harrison, 76, passed away on September 7, 2013 due to complications from Pulmonary Fibrosis. She was born March 24, 1937 in Indianapolis, IN and moved to Sanford, FL in 1949. She married Jack Harrison on December 28, 1956 and moved to Jacksonville, FL in 1961. She was primarily a stay-at-home housewife; however, when the children were growing up she made time to be heavily involved in Boy Scouts, San Mateo Little League, San Mateo PTA, and also a member of the State Board for Youth Bowling Association. No matter what the activity she was involved in, she reveled in teaching and mentoring children. She was known to adults as Barbara, Barb, Bobbi, or Mrs. H, but to all her “kids” she was simply “Mom”. For the past 40+ years she was passionate about genealogy, tracing multiple family lines. She also ran a small home-made craft business and participated in several craft shows throughout the year. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Jack; three children Jack Lee (Anne) Harrison, David (Bonnie) Harrison, and Jessica Harrison Hendley; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren; one sister Donna Avery; four nieces. The family will be receiving friends on Tuesday, September 10, 2013 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Hardage-Giddens Main Street Chapel, 4315 North Main Street, Jacksonville, FL.
