Pauline Countryman Linder, age 94, died on September 14, 2013, of heart disease. A celebration of her life will be held on Tuesday, September 17, 2013, at Noon in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Wilma Andrews officiating. The family will meet friends from 11:00 a.m. to service time at the funeral home. Polly, as she was known by her family and friends, was born on July 16, 1919, in Cedartown, Georgia, to Howard and Natha Lee Countryman, a twin, and one of eight children. At the age of six years, upon the death of her mother, Polly and her brothers and sisters moved to the Harpst Home for Children in Cedartown, where she lived until age sixteen. Her father and grandmother became employees of the home and remained actively involved in the children's lives.
Polly spent most of her life in Macon and had a successful career at Warner Robins Air Force Base where she retired. She was active in the Order of Eastern Star and served as Worthy Matron. She was a charter member of Southside Methodist Church in Macon, Georgia.
She is predeceased by her parents, six brothers and sisters, husband, Currie Eugene Linder, Sr, and son, Currie Eugene Linder, Jr.
She is survived by sisters; Jesse Williamson, Taylor, Michigan, Betty Hughes, Miami, Florida, son; Charles W. Linder, M.D. of Augusta, Georgia, and daughter; Marjorie Ann Linder, Macon, Georgia; grandchildren; Charlene (Michael) Dockery and Pamela (Jason) Thomas Williams of Augusta, Georgia, Ken (Lynn) Linder and Pam (Dave) Tinsley, and six great-grandchildren, Drew and Wade Thomas, Lara and Lee Dockery, of Augusta, Georgia, Marshall Linder, Haddock, Georgia, and Maelyn Tinsley of Milledgeville, Georgia, daughter-in-law; Sandra Linder of Milledgeville, a host of nieces and nephews, and special friend, Alice Conner. The family would like to acknowledge their gratitude for the loving kindness of caregivers Kenya Hastings and Anne Cryer.
