Marilyn J. Anderson died peacefully at TRU community Hospice in Louisville, Colorado on September 20, 2013. She was 84 years old. She is survived by her beloved husband of 63 years, Stan, and her two children Susie Hertz (Ray) of Estes Park and Paul Anderson (Melinda) of Burnsville, MN, as well as four grandsons: Lance Fischer, Joshua Anderson, Caleb Anderson, and Ethan Anderson.
Marilyn was born on June 22, 1929 to Charlie and Becky Carlson, Marilyn was raised in Minneapolis, MN. She was an outstanding student and was front page editor of her high school newspaper. She and Stan were high school sweethearts and were married September 16, 1950 At Salem Covenant Church in Minneapolis. Marilyn was a medical technician and medical office manager until moving to Colorado in 1968, where she and Stan raised their two children and enjoyed their special neighborhood and caring neighbors.
Marilyn loved to knot sipper booties for all her family, was an avid scrabble player, a big John Wayne fan, and enjoyed stock car racing. Her brownies with homemade fudge frosting were the best and especially enjoyed by all her grandsons.
Memorial services will be held at 3:00 pm, Thursday, September 26, 2013 at Calvary Bible Church, 3245 Kalmia Ave., Boulder, CO 80301. In lieu of flowers donations in Marilyn’s honor may be made to Boulder Cancer Center, 4715 Arapahoe Ave., Boulder, CO 80303 or to Calvary Bible Church.
