Harriet Eunice Andersen, age 95, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, October 12, 2013 at Whispering Ridge AFC Home in West Olive, Michigan. She was born on April 17, 1918 in Muskegon to parents Harry and Winnifred (Mapes) Zook. She spent her entire life trying to please others. Harriet spent many years working with handicapped children and enjoyed crocheting and collecting dolls. Most of all, Harriet loved her family (especially her mommy and daddy). Harriet will be lovingly remembered by her children, Bernie (Louise) Gillish of Twin Lake, Dottie (Pete) Pellegrom of West Olive, Ronnie (Janet) Andersen of Freesoil, Alan (Joan) Andersen of Ohio; sister, Viola of Muskegon; 16 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and 19 great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Harriet was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Peter Gillish; her second husband, Roger Andersen, one brother; four sisters; granddaughters, Renee and Mindy. A funeral service will take place at 11:00am on Saturday, October 19, 2013 at Nortonville Gospel Chapel (14528 Leonard Rd., Spring Lake). The family will receive visitors on Friday, October 18, 2013 from 2:00-4:00pm and 6:00-8:00pm at Ever Rest Funeral Home & Chapel (1783 E. Keating Ave., Muskegon). Memorial contributions may be made to the Nortonville Gospel Chapel Building Fund or the Grand Haven Area Community Fund which benefits mentally, physically, and emotionally challenged children.
